So you are working on fat loss and that is a full-time job. The first part of most people’s day is breakfast so here are some tips to help maximise your breakfast time for fat loss.
Focus On The Right Things
You want your breakfast to be made up of the right things. One of the biggest issues people face when trying to eat for fat loss is hunger pangs. You are naturally eating less food but do not want to be starving.
You want your breakfast to have a good source of protein and fibre. Now, this is not as complicated as you think.
The best example of a simple breakfast with protein and fibre is some eggs and vegetables or as it is known combine an omelette.
Now cooking eggs or eating eggs in the morning is not for everyone. Oats are one of the most popular things people have for their breakfast. Now oats are not high in protein but they are quite filling due to a high fibre content. An easy way to add protein to this is before you make your porridge add some protein powder to the oats and then cook them together. This is a very easy way of making sure you get protein in your morning meal.
You might find that you struggle with time in the morning to eat anything. This might be ok, you skip breakfast but then 11 am hits, you are starving and not making the best food choices and you are already behind on your fat loss goals.
If you are always stuck for time to eat a good meal in the morning, try and prep it the night before. You can make overnight porridge without much effort. You can boil some eggs without much effort.
If you are really caught for time and running out the door you can grab a protein shake and some fruit for fibre. This should stave off you becoming ravenous for food and can make better decisions when you are having your next meal.
Ditch Extra Calories
Right, stop adding calories that are needless to your breakfast. The best example of this is pouring sugar into your morning cup of coffee. Look adding sugar and full-fat milk to your coffee can add 50- 100 calories to that 0 calorie cup of coffee just like that. Those calories add up over the week and could be just the little change you need to make to ditch body fat.
If you do need milk or a sweetener for your coffee try and use low-calorie options.
I Don’t Eat Breakfast
Breakfast is not the most important meal of the day. Skipping it will not shut down your metabolism or put you backwards. Some people just do not like eating breakfast and there is nothing wrong with that.
The only thing to be mindful of if you do skip breakfast is to apply the above steps to your next meal. You never want to pick your food when you are absolutely starving as you will make bad decisions and over eat.
If you do skip breakfast make sure to have some water as after sleep you will be slightly dehydrated and having some water will help get things going.
If you are a coffee person, then take it black, enjoy the stimulating effects of caffeine and coffee even suppresses your appetite a little making it easier for you to last till your next meal
